During the month of May, Elegant Watch & Jewellery in Hong Kong is paying a tribute to the craftsmanship of Jaquet Droz’s Ateliers d’Art creations through an exclusive exhibition.
The most significant timepieces are celebrating the expertise of the brand and its traditional decorative crafts of enameling, engraving, painting and miniature sculpting. Also on display is the Charming Bird, the first singing bird automaton integrated in a wrist watch, that has been crowned with the “Mechanical Exception Watch Prize” Award at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in 2015.
“Some watches tell time, some tell a story”
It was one of the few complications yet to grace the Grande Seconde. Now the monopusher chronograph makes its grand entrance into the Jaquet Droz collection, equipped with an exclusive movement. An inaugural, limited series piece is complemented by three permanent additions to the collection.
On September 6. Mr. Christian Lattmann, Jaquet Droz CEO, and Mr. Fong Wing Ngai, Macau Timepiece Museum curator, were joined by distinguished guests of the brand as well as media to celebrate the inauguration of the exhibition. The master of watch restoration from Jaquet Droz, Mr. Boillat has presented in exclusivity the Singing Bird Snuffbox, created in the 18th century.
The Grande Seconde Quantième now features a modern, tasteful and spirited satin-brushed sunray finish, and is available in a diameter of 39 mm or 43 mm.
