Jaquet Droz celebrates this year its 280th anniversary. For the occasion, Haute Horlogerie enthusiasts were invited to discover the exhibition "Story of the Unique" unveiling a historical retrospective and the presentation of Jaquet Droz’s new collections with the presence of the CEO, Mr. Christian Lattmann.
The cherry on the pie of the exhibition was the presentation Parrot Repeater Pocket Watch, a quintessence of Jaquet Droz’s know-how in decorative arts. Watchmaking skills are showcased alongside artistic techniques. The oeuvre d'art carries on the long tradition of automata originally established by Pierre Jaquet-Droz, spurring it today to push new technical, creative and artistic boundaries.
From the anniversary model Grande Seconde Tribute, the architectural Grande Seconde Skelet-One, the elegant Lady 8 Petite to automaton watch Tropical Bird Repeater, visitors will have the privilege to discover Jaquet Droz watchmaking expertise through a striking journey between heritage and modernity.
The exhibition is open from September 28th till October 14th from 11 am till 11 pm from Monday till Sunday at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, 10 Bayfront Avenue, Singapore 018956, Jaquet Droz Boutique, Casino Level B2M-215. Tel. (65) 6688 7291.
“Some watches tell time, some tell a story”
The Maison unveils the new radically innovative aesthetic of its masterpiece, whose tourbillon is revealed through meticulous geometry.
For the ninth consecutive time, Jaquet Droz is proud to donate a unique piece of its own creation, designed exclusively for Only Watch, a charity sale to benefit the Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (Monegasque Association against Muscular Dystrophy), and featuring a degree of technical ambition and aesthetic never-before achieved: A Grande Seconde Skelet-One Tourbillon adorned with a plique-à-jour enamel dial.
Issued in eight pieces to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the founder Pierre Jaquet-Droz, the Bird Repeater, an automaton with a minute repeater, embodies the essence of the House. Its dial in white mother-of-pearl and black onyx features appliqués in 18K red gold. Multiple bird animations, eggs hatching and the river in the background breathe life into this creation. This weave of intricate animations, completely engraved and painted by hand, resonates with a minute repeater, which is housed at the heart of its 18K red gold case in 47mm, one of fine watchmaking's most virtuoso complications.
