FROM THE FORBIDDEN CITY TO THE CITÉ DU TEMPS, JAQUET DROZ OVER THREE CENTURIES OF HISTORY

In 1784 he decided to move to Geneva, attracted by the town’s artistic and literary life. He was soon joined by Jean-Frédéric Leschot, his adoptive son, and together they decided to set up Geneva's first real horological workshop. This establishment was dedicated to small-volume production and the exportation of luxury watches integrating musical elements, automata and great complications. More than 225 years after the opening of this horological workshop, Montres Jaquet Droz is unveiling three centuries of history in the stunning waterside setting provided by Geneva’s Cité du Temps. You will delight in exploring historical pieces, which lead the way to 2011 novelties. Even the pleasure of discovering or rediscovering the Time Writing Machine, a contemporary interpretation of the famous Jaquet Droz automata from the 18th century, awaits you.
